i am just now beginning to develop an interest in cormac mccarthy. his style is amazing and brilliant, and beautiful.

also, i am addicted to radio feeds on itunes. my current favorite: bigupradio.com = nothing but dancehall.

i've never really been a HUGE mos def fan. i like his voice and all and he's one of the few people in the world that can cross between acting and being a musician. but the new album "the ecstatic" is amazing. lots and lots of madlib samples AND a song featuring georgia anne muldrow (beautiful voice). that song is on repeat repeat repeat

other than playing out this album, i have been brushing up on my skills as a spanish speaker. one of my friends has a ridiculously complicated legal situation going on in costa rica and i am preparing to help him out by speaking to the lawyer assigned to this case...but allllll in spanish. i'm a little stressed because, shit, it's legal stuff and i don't want to screw the guy over. so i'm practicing and researching and all that jazz. also, i'm doing it pro bono because i could use the practice and i also don't really think he needs any more stress going on in his life. so wish me luck on that.

also, i'm helping another friend prepare subtitles for a 5 minute clip that will be featured in his documentary on local and urban gardening (with a focus on the tacoma area). it's really fun and i am also doing it for free because, hell, i'm going to be in the credits!

how is every body? i know you're taking quizzes on facebook, don't lie!

well, tomorrow leon and i begin transporting our belongings into a home that we are going to be sharing. i'm a little shaky about it, mostly because i often told myself that i would never move in with a significant other unless i got married. now, here i am, after merely a year of dating settling into some new digs with the man that i love. it just seems like the natural next step to me. it's not forced, it's just...natural. i want to have people over very soon. (keep that in mind.)

other than the new dwellings, there aren't too many updates in my life; things are good. at least i don't have the swine flu.

so much for riding my bike yesterday. it started raining and it put me into sleep mode. passed out for a couple of hours and missed the zine meeting in the process (sorry tina!!) ratatat was awesome except being short is the lamest thing ever and i maybe saw 10% of what was going on on the stage. leon had a lot of fun though. i'm going back to bed, i still haven't recovered from sleep deprivation.

i love everybody that came to my house yesterday to celebrate my bachelor's degree. you know who you are and i am glad that you spent the day with me and my crazy family eating chinese buffet and playing with octopi at the table. there are a few of you who sadly didn't come and that's okay i guess. but i had a lot of fun and felt more loved than i have in a long time. everybody that came was as excited for my degree as i was and i couldn't be more thankful for the friends that i have.
right now, i am hung over and about to go ride my bike in the sunshine before i go see ratatat! well...bye!

and now for something completely different

as i mentioned before, i am done with school. forever. or until i decide that i want to get my masters. HA!

leon and i are getting a place in the north end on L st. it's super cute and there is no pet deposit which is wonderful. plus, i am going to be living with my boo and that's bomb.

went furniture/housewares shopping today at goodwill and VV and found lots and lots of stuff. practically filled the kitchen, got a table and other misc and AWESOME goods for under 80 bucks. plus, a friend hooked us up with a nice loveseat that doesnt have piss stains, holes or flower print on it so i'm stoked.

been trying to look for a job that's not retail. good luck, huh?

if you have never heard of Oh No, do it now. his album "dr. no's experiment" is incredible.

i am going to see ratatat on the 29th. as a graduation present, my friend joe is taking me to see Tricky on the 28th. that is going to be an incredible weekend. and also very tiring.

that is my life. sorry it's so boring.

went to my friend kendle's house last night and baked challah. it turned out so delicious and cute! i got the dough-braiding thing down!

then went to have sexytimes with the boy and fell asleep at his house. he wakes up at 6 am for work but told me that i could stay and sleep. i woke up at 8 because i had to get ready for work but ALSO because i had to pee like you wouldn't believe. i get all dressed, go into the bathroom fully aware that the handle is broken and lock myself in! i was so scared that i couldn't even pee! i started jimmy rigging the "handle" but my efforts were futile. decided that i was too big to fit through the tiny bathroom window and was also devastated that i didn't bring my purse in with me (no phone!) so i decided that even though i didn't know if leon's roommate was home, i was going to yell like a banshee. thank god altwin was home otherwise i would have missed work because i was locked in a fucking bathroom.

1 - Go to "wikipedia." Hit “random”
or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.

2 - Go to "Random quotations"
or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last three to five words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.

3 - Go to flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”
or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.

4 - Use photoshop or similar to put it all together.
